Junior automation engineer required

Rockbrook Technologies are currently looking for a junior automation engineer interested in taking the next step in their career. Reporting into the senior automation engineer you will be service orientated, delivery focused and have the ability to build rapport with key team members.  As a junior engineer in Rockbrook, our main focuses are helping our engineers to grow, develop and advance in their career.  You will learn and apply best practices and expand your current knowledge base by being mentored by a senior automation engineer.

This will be a multisite role based in the Leinster area and as such requires a full driving licence.

THE ROLE

To provide technical support in the area of process automation and equipment development. 
Working on site automation systems and continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with any other activities as directed by the senior automation engineer. 
Work mainly in the food and beverage industry on very large automation projects in high profile sites. 
Develop/modify FDS (Functional Design Documentation), SDS (Software Design Documentation) and the full suite of automation engineering documentation. 
Learn and develop process engineering software based on Step 7, TIA portal or the Siemens suite of control software. 
Learn and develop SCADA applications on both HMI packages and DCS control systems. 
Work with the end used on software Factory Acceptance Testing. Will be involved in field I/O verification with Instrumentation Technicians and Electricians. 
Set up industrial networks such as Profinet, Profibus DP, Industrial Ethernet, Asi, Profibus PA. Commission process control software.

THE REQUIREMENTS
An ability to work independently and you must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
Engineering background with minimum of 1 years’ automation experience.
Experience in maintaining Industrial Control Networks and communications. Experience supporting DCS, PLC (Siemens), SCADA, HMI, BMS and PC controlled systems in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 including Cyber Security would be an advantage.
Working knowledge of Siemens Step 7 and TIA portal would be an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Process Engineering, or related Manufacturing Engineering.
